Govt. ITE Alappuzha was established in 1951 recognized by National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi. The institution was established to impart teacher education at elementary level. Govt. ITE is one of the oldest institutions in the government sector of the state and has an excellent history of more than seven decades. It is the only government institution in Kerala which have a total intake of 50 students.
The aim of the institution is to send in to the field of education in India, teachers who are intelligent, spiritually vigorous, cultured, healthy, vocationally prepared, social minded and committed to the cause of Indian education in whatever sphere they may serve our country.This esteemed institution is a shining star in the field of teacher education.
